Dark Floral Dress and I GOT BURGUNDY BOOTIES!!!!!

Gals, I am so excited because I finally got a pair of burgundy booties!  Now I know most of you are thinking "What's the big deal Amy, burgundy booties are everywhere now?".  Well, maybe for you, but not where I live.  We tend to get all the latest looks a full year later.  I checked every single store in my town and I could not find a pair of burgundy booties anywhere.  But when my husband and I were in Minneapolis last weekend, we saw them in every single store!  So I got an early birthday present, my BURGUNDY BOOTIES!  Yes!

Now by now your probably wondering "Why didn't she just order them on-line if she wanted them so bad?".  Because I really don't like to order on-line unless I really have to, especially clothes.  I like to see in person, touch, and try things on.  I was so desperate for burgundy booties I even requested them in my next Stitch Fix;  but they didn't have any in stock either.

But lets put the burgundy booties aside for a bit and talk about this outfit.  This is a dark floral shift dress that I received from Stitch Fix in my last Fix.  It was suppose to be a "Summer Fix" but most of the items I was sent were more for the fall season.  It's a very thin dress, but because of the long sleeves, I didn't think I could ever wear it in the summer, so I saved it till fall.

The day I wore this dress it was only in the fifties, so I added my suede and shear ling vest I picked up last year.  I also wore leggings under the dress.  I had every intention of just going bare legged this day, but the weather was too cool, plus, even though the dress has a built in lining, I could still see through it.  I didn't notice that when I chose to keep the dress, or I would have sent it back.  I don't like wearing slips, so now the only time I will be able to wear this dress is with tights or leggings.

My vest I've shown you several times before in this post HERE and HERE.   People ask me all the time where I got this vest because it's so luxurious and well made.  I don't remember the store, but it was a "Day-After-Christmas" sale at the Mall of America and it was originally over fifty dollars but I picked it up for twenty.  Score!

I had hoped the weather would have warmed up as the day went on so I could remove the vest, as I like the outfit better without the vest.  But it never did warm up, so I ended up wearing my vest all day.

And if your wondering what the dress looks like without the vest, here it is.  You can also see the original post HERE where I styled it bare-legged with sandals.

I wore this dress all day shopping and I was upset with how easily it wrinkled.  I felt I looked sloppy and messy with a wrinkly dress on.  It was so disappointing considering how much Stitch Fix clothes cost.  But that is something that one can't always tell when trying to decide to keep or return item.

And now lets talk about these Burgundy Booties!  Are they adorable or what?  They are suede, so I am going to wear them every chance I get between now and when the first snowflake arrives.  They have a low heel, so I can wear them all day in comfort.  They have so much interesting detail with the quilted stitching pattern and buckle.  I just LOVE them!

I found them at DSW for $50.00, but I only paid $40.00 because I had a coupon!

I also have a new necklace to show you.  I've been wanting to try chokers for some time now, but again, couldn't find any in my area or they were too expensive for my taste.  Then I visited a Forever 21 store while we were in the Chicago area, and I got three of them for about $4.00 each.  I was on the fence about trying this trend, as at my age my neck isn't something I want to draw attention to.  However, for $4.00, I'm willing to try anything.

I've worn all three of my chokers now, and this trend has really grown on me!  I had to play with the clasp, because if not worn just right it either feels annoying to me or it shifts too much and doesn't stay centered.  But other than that, I really love them.  They are the perfect type of necklace to wear with certain necklines when other necklaces won't work.

I'm sure your all sick of seeing my burgundy bag, but ladies, this bag goes with everything and brings a pop of color to most of my otherwise dull outfits, so expect to see it a lot more.

I also wanted to point out the detail in this dress in the next two pictures.  There's a very interesting cut-out design on the sleeves and the hemline.

    1. Thanks Jodie, I had no idea burgundy was a color that went with everything until I purchased a burgundy bag and realized I never had to change it out with my outfits like I do with all my other bags.

  4. The booties are really cute, love the color! Your town sounds like mine, nothing new ever seems to be in stores here either.
Really love the burgundy purse. I need one! The dress looks really pretty too, sorry about the wrinkles. I wonder if there is a spray or something that one could spray on clothing to prevent wrinkles? I have no idea...

    1. Thanks Elli, I know, it doesn't make any sense that the same store can differ in merchandise than the big city stores, but they do! I don't know if there is a spray to prevent wrinkles, but I'll check into it.
