What's Blooming In My Garden This Week: Iris, Peonies, and More!

We have had so much rain and nice weather here in Wisconsin that the flowers are thriving.  This week the Iris and Peonies are really stealing the show.

I love this dark purple iris.  The flowers are so big!

This light lavender iris doesn't have near the dramatic flower as the dark purple iris, but I love it just the same.

This usual iris is a dark burgundy shade.

The yellow iris dominates in my garden.  It is very hardy and robust.  I love to pair it with the shorter purple siberian iris in front.

The foxgloves are just starting to bloom.  I love their pretty purple blooms against the yellow iris.

Here is a close up of the siberian iris.  This is a wonderful plant, for the foliage stays nice and tidy all season long.

I missed this peony bloom while I was on vacation.  It's actually past peak now as the pretty flower petals are starting to fall off already.

I did find one pretty bloom still intact however.

I have several of this light pink peony bushes in my yard.

Don't you just love peony blossoms?

The hardy geranium is blooming away.  I have this periwinkle blue variety, plus white and hot pink.

Some of my lilac bushes are still blooming.  This pink one is a late blooming variety and is in full bloom now.  I couldn't be happier about it as I love the scent of lilacs!

When I returned home from vacation, I found my clematis in full bloom!

This plant has flowers as big as my hand!

Poppies are one of my favorite flowers.  I love their large, bright, papery blooms.  That is a pink painted daisy in front of it.

The dark centers of poppies are fascinating to me.  Isn't this flower just so gorgeous?

Your probably seeing lots of Dames Rocket growing wild along the highways.  I planted some along my wooded fence line years ago, and it has been happily growing ever since.

The hosta have been thriving with all this moisture, and so far, no sign of slug damage!  I'm keeping an eye out for those pesky buggers though!

Have a Great Day!  Amy
