Wink Wink Ink 'Sourpuss'

Hello! Today I have an older Wink Wink Ink image to show you, but new to me because I didn't have it before! Meet SourPuss. I've always been so drawn to this image, I love the intensity in the cat's eye. It reminds me of my own cat when he was younger and always on the prowl for some mice in my 150 year old country farmhouse. Now my cat is 17 years old and no longer hunts. He just sleeps or eats. A mouse could crawl right past him and he wouldn't even move. I've thought of getting a new kitten to help keep the country critters under control, but the thought of caring and being committed to yet another animal for 20 years seemed overwhelming. So, I'll just stick to mouse traps for now. LOL!

Anyway, about my cat. I colored the image myself with Copic Markers and I mounted up the cat's head on dimensionals. I wanted to keep the card 'dark' to match the mood of the image and sentiment, so I used dark colored card stock and designer papers. The sentiment is also mounted up on dimensionals and I got it off the internet by googling 'cat quotes'. I thought it fit the image well, and I really liked the humor in it. Here is a close up of the image so you can see the coloring and the dimension.
And here is a close up of the sentiment in case you couldn't read it in the first picture. Isn't that funny?

Have a great day! Amy

  7. Amy this is such a sweet card! Love how you popped up part of the image.
I know what you mean about all it takes to having to care for a kitten, we just adopted one last week from the shelter (our first one ever). He is very attention loving and funny thing is he is always ready to play when I want to go to bed at night LOL.

  8. I like how you did the shading on the cat's coloring. Cute sentiment.

My cat, Sophie, is at least 15 years old (she was a stray so we're not sure), she has only one eye and she has lung tumors which limits her breathing and has caused her to lose a lot of weight until she's almost skin and bones. But every day she goes outside and hunts and is always successful. One day she came in and dropped a chipmunk at my feet. I took it outside and put it in the woods before she could devour it. She went right back outside and within 1/2 hour she was back with a mouse. I guess she just loves hunting. Maybe your cat feels he's proven himself over the years and is retired from all that :-)
