"You Are Precious To God" Handmade Card

I made a birthday card for my friend using a card front from "Colorful Blessings".  "Colorful Blessings" are card fronts available from Amazon .  You simply color them in and glue them to a card.

My friend's favorite color is purple so I colored the flowers in purple and used purple as one of the mat colors.  I matted the card base onto black card stock, then purple, and finally onto a white card base.  I put purple glitter glue in the center of the flowers.

I used Copic Markers to color my card.

A Quick "Colorful Blessings" Card

Just popping in today to show one of my "Colorful Blessings" cards.  "Colorful Blessings" are card fronts that you can buy on Amazon.  All you have to deal is color them in and adhere them to a card base.  You can read more about them HERE!  I absolutely LOVE them.  They not only make quick and easy cards, but they are very therapeutic to color.

 Whenever I get stressed out I love to color in one of my "Colorful Blessings" card fronts.  Many have Bible verses, like this one, and I work to memorize it while I color.  

I almost always use gel pens to color my card fronts.  This one I adhered to a pink card stock panel before I adhered it to a card base.

Bible Verse Cards

I have a few inspirational Bible Verse Cards to share today.  All these cards were made with Colorful Blessings Card fronts which you can find on Amazon.  All you have to do is color them in and adhere them to a card base.  I have been making cards with these fronts for two years now.  You can see my first post HERE.  They are so fun and therapeutic to color.  I always try to mediate on the verse as I color.

I usually use gel pens when I color these fronts as the designs are so intricate they are hard to color with any other medium.

Even if you aren't into paper crafting just scrolling through this posts and reading these verses is relaxing, especially during these difficult times.  I absolutely love this first verse.

This is such a happy, cheerful design!

The next two verses are also so appropriate for these trying times.

This is a verse I need to keep repeating to myself as I struggle with depression over what this virus is doing to our world and my own life.

And finally a positive reminder to us all.

A Handmade Sympathy Card and More "Colorful Blessings" Cards

It's been awhile since I've shared some of my handmade cards with you so I decided to do a "card round up" post before the Easter projects begin!

Well, first I had the unpleasant task of making a sympathy card.  I don't know a card maker on the planet who enjoys making a sympathy card.  We just hope and pray our handiwork brings comfort to the recipient as we make it.  This card was made for a good friend of mine who lost her father-in-law.  

I used retired Stampin' Up! sets to make this card.  I kept it simple and elegant by stamping the images directly  onto the main card base and coloring it in with Copic markers.  I then matted it on a black piece of card stock to make everything pop before I adhered it to a white card base.

The rest of the cards I have to show you were all made from my "Colorful Blessings" Card fronts I purchased on Amazon.  These are all pre-printed card fronts that you simply color in and mount to a card base.

The designs in this kit are usually very intricate so I almost always use my gel pens to color them.  This results in very bright and vivid colors.

I almost always mount the card fronts to a dark base first to make the colors pop and then I put them on a white card base.

The card below however already had so much white space, I chose a coral card to mount it on.

All the messages in this kit are very generic but encouraging so you can use them for a multitude of occasions.

Sometimes when I'm done with my Bible Journaling for the day, I just like to pull out a card front and color.  Like I do with my Bible Journaling, I try to mediate on the verse as I color.  I then make a card out of the front even though I may not have a recipient for it, and just put it in my stash so I have a card ready when needed.

This would be a cheerful card to give to someone going through a hard time.

Handmade Floral Christian Card

I made this card using "Colorful Blessings" card fronts.  The image is pre-printed and you simply color it in and attach it to a card front.

I colored the image with gel pens on the tiny, more intricate parts of the image, and Stampin' Up! markers on the larger areas.

I matted the card front on black, then on pink card stock, before adhering it to a card base.

"May God's Kindness And Love Always Be With You" Card

I have another "Colorful Blessings" card to share with you today.  For those unfamiliar with "Colorful Blessings" they are card fronts that you color in yourself then make a card out of.  I purchased them from Amazon.

I thought this design had a real "1960's" feel to it, so I used brightly colored gel pens to color it in.

I popped out the colors even more by matting the card front to a black frame, then a white frame, and adhering the entire thing to a bright pink card base.

You Are God's Masterpiece Inspirational Card

I made this card for one of my dearest girlfriend's birthday.  There was no stamping involved.  I simply colored in a card front from "Colorful Blessings", available on Amazon.

I colored the image using pastel gel and glitter pens.

I adhered the card front to a grey card stock mat,  wrapped a pink organza ribbon around the image and tied it into a bow, then I glued the entire card front to a pink card.

A Colorful Blessings Friendship Card

I have another Colorful Blessings card to share with you today.  This one is a friendship card with cute little owls.

 To make this card no stamping was involved.  I used a card front from the Colorful Blessings set available on Amazon.  All I had to do was color it  and adhere it to a piece of white card stock to frame it, then I attached it to a coral card base.

I colored the image with Kaiser Gel Pens.

God's Blessings Handmade Card

 I have another "Colorful Blessings" card to share.  I can't even begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed making these cards.  The card fronts are as enjoyable to color as coloring in an adult coloring book...but better, because I can give my card to someone else to enjoy when I'm done.  I usually color my card fronts while watching TV and make the card later.  And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out these posts here and here.

Some of the images in the card front collection are easier to color than others.  This one I really struggled with because most of the image is water and what color do I color the fish?  I decided to go with various shades of blue for the water, and to keep more with a monochromatic theme, I went with purples and reds for the fish.

I really wanted the sentiment to pop out from the busyness of the card, so I actually cut it out using a circle die from Spellbinder's Nestabilities and then popped it up on dimensionals.

I used a corner rounder to round the edges of the main image panel and the white panel behind it.  I felt rounding the corners echoed the round image.

Before I go I want to apologize for not having any fashion posts this week.  My DSLR was in the shop for repairs.  We tried taking pictures with my IPhone, but I didn't think they were blog worthy, so I just decided to skip it for this week.  I do have a new Stitch Fix box coming this weekend, and I got my camera back, so expect me to be back on a regular blog schedule next Monday.

Colorful Blessings Cards

I have a couple of cards to share with you that were created with my "Colorful Blessings" card fronts.     "Colorful Blessings" card fronts are pre-printed black and white images and sentiments on heavy card stock that you color in yourself.  The images are printed on heavy card stock.  After coloring, you just adhere them to a card front.  They are super fun and easy to use.  

The card fronts come in a little box.  I got mine from Amazon.

Here's a sample of what the cards look like before they're colored.  

Many of the designs are very intricate.  I usually color with Copic Markers but found I needed something with a finer tip to get inside these intricate designs.  I purchased some new gel pens from Hobby Lobby and found they worked best.  I colored in the background with gel highlighters.

 My next card front had bigger images on it so I was able to use my Copic Markers for the larger images but still used gel pens for the smaller ones, like the leaves.  I colored the background in with the gel highlighters again.

I matted my card fronts on white and colored mats before adhering them to a card base.

Now I want to show you what gel pens I used.  These are Kaiser Gel Pens from Hobby Lobby.  They cost $20.00 for the set, but I bought them on sale at 50% off (you can also use a coupon on them if they are not on sale).   I can not say enough about these gel pens.  They are hands down the best gel pens I ever used in my life.  So many other brands I've tried clogged a few minutes after using them.  These have done that.  And they go on so smooth....just like butter!  They are a dream to color with.

You get 24 pens in a set, 12 are pastel and 12 are glitter.  The colors are so pretty!

 My next product are these gel highlighters by Creative Devotion.  If you love the water colored backgrounds, but you don't like to water color, you will love these!  You can easily color in a background to create a water color look with these highlighters.

Just like the gel pens, these highlighters go on smooth like butter!  They are a dream to color with and there is no mess or crinkled pages like there is with water colors.
