Although I am a very feminine woman (no one would describe me as athletic or tom boyish), I don't really like to dress girly, so I downplayed this "girly" pink top with a new pair of wide leg jeans from Mavi. I think Mavi is my favorite new jean brand. I know they're expensive, but they are so worth it, and I don't get out much, so one new pair of jeans a year is all I need.
My very expensive or "sumptuous" blouse cost me a whopping $20 at TJMaxx. I've actually showed this blouse to you before in THIS POST where I styled it with a black skirt for Valentine's Day.
It was the sleeves that really drew me to this blouse. They are 3/4 sleeve length balloon style sleeve -- so fun!
For jewelry, I chose a beaded necklace and matching drop earrings that had the same colors of my jeans and top. I also wore a multi-strand beaded bracelet.
Now be sure to check out what the other ladies are wearing this month. Hopefully they have more "Sumptuous Fabrics" in their closet then I do! And be sure to link up with below!
Have A Great Day! Amy

I think this is my favorite top of yours. I love everything about it. The cute details on the sleeves. The light weight flow. The color. I also think you could wear it so many different ways and from casual to very dressy. Love it Amy!

Thank you. I bought it a year ago and I think this is only the second time I wore it. I really need to wear it more often.
DeleteI've worn Mavi jeans in the past and love how they fit. Those look so cute on you! Your blouse is such a gorgeous color! Love the detail on the sleeves!

Yes, Mavi jeans seem to fit me really well and I always feel comfortable in them. Thanks so much!
DeleteAlways love it when Jackson appears on your blog. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit with this pretty feminine top! The wide leg jeans look great on you! I feel like wide leg pants swallow me up (I'm only 5'2") so slight flare jeans work better for me as long as they are fitted otherwise. So glad we have so many options with jeans nowadays!!
I know you do, that's why I included that photo. Thank you. I can totally understand why a shorter woman wouldn't want to wear wide leg pants. I'm 5'7. I don't like flares because they are tight everywhere and then flare out at the bottom and cover my shoes, but I've never tried on a slight flare. But yes, it's great that there is no longer just one style of jean that is trending and we have to wear that style whether we like it or not because it is trending.
DeleteThat is one pretty blouse! I really like it and that it can be worn dressed up or down.

Yes, I think I haven't worn it much because I thought it could only be worn "dressy", but now that I tried it with jeans and love it, I will wear it more often.
DeleteSuch a pretty blouse. I love the details of the sleeves. It looks terrific worn with your jeans for a casual elegant look!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteThat cracks me up that 40 degrees is too hot for a sweater. I'm wearing sweaters when it is 60 degrees, haha. But that top is absolutely lovely Amy. I can see why it works for you.

Ha ha! Yes, us Wisconsinites are a tough bunch. People walk around outside in freezing cold weather without coats all the time. As soon as it hits 60 in spring the flip flops and short shorts come out.
DeleteGreat color on you Amy. I love the Mavi jeans too. Love that they include different lengths. I've recently discovered Lee Ultra Luxe bootcut jeans on Amazon which are super comfortable, and sumptuous!! But not in the money category ;-D
ReplyDeleteThank you. Oh, I will have to check those out. I remember Lee jeans always fitting me well too.
DeleteOh I definitely think this fits the theme! That is such a lovely top and I like that sleeve detail so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne.
DeleteWhat a lovely blouse. Indeed sumptuous in my book. I was not thinking expensive fabric when I chose this prompt, but just soft, silky, pretty, feminine fabric. Something that is pleasing to the touch. And I think your blouse certainly fits the bill. The color is so soothing and pretty. I like the details on the sleeves. Great idea to pair this pretty blouse with a pair of jeans. Especially if that is most true to you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Oh, I know what you were thinking for the prompt, but I think you chose the word because the sound of the word sounded like what you meant rather than the actual meaning...does that make any sense? But I felt that since the word "sumptuous" was in my title, and my clothing was not "sumptuous" in the dictionary kind of way, I had better explain myself. I honestly didn't even know what the word "sumptuous" meant until I googled it the day before the challenge when I wrote the post, otherwise I would have suggested another word. Anyway, it was a good challenge, so thanks for suggesting it. Thanks so much.
DeleteBeautiful blouse! This color suits you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI think your look is perfect for this challenge because everything is open to interpretation! Your look reads as sumptuous or scrumptious because those sleeves are amazing! And, that is such a pretty color on you! I love these wide leg jeans, too! Just a fabulous look overall!

DeleteAmy, I love your pink top & jeans combination. I'm with you, I'm feminine but if I can get away with it, I like to pair things with jeans or leggings.
