Cute Cupcake Card!

Hello! Today I have a simple card I created using this adorable FREE digi from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this just about the cutest cupcake image you have ever seen? I love the mischievous smile! To make my card I colored the image with Copic Markers and put Stickles on the sprinkles and Crystal Effects on the cherry. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye. I used Pink Organdy Ribbon so that you could still see all the sentiments on the designer paper. A button, floss, and adhesive pearls were added for embellishment. The inside of the card reads 'You deserve a day sprinkled with fun. Happy Birthday!'. Here is a close up so you can see this adorable image better:

Well my son emailed me already and asked if dad could bring his marimba and hang out a bit this weekend. He said a bunch of kids were going home for the holiday weekend. Really? Already? It hasn't even been a week yet and they are already homesick? Oh, I wish I could stop worrying, but I know homesickness is a part of life everyone goes through. Well, we are bound and determined not to let him come home for at least 6 weeks. All the studies we have read advised that is the amount of time teens need to separate from home before they should have their first visit back. So were sticking with that. Although, dad will probably take him his marimba. Keep him in your prayers! He still has a lot of issues to work out!
Have a great day! Amy

  4. That is one cute cuppie cake! Love your card - the bg paper is just perfect!!! lol...we only had two kids. When the first left for college, I thought it was the worst thing that could happen (he went to the AF Academy in C.Springs, 15.5 hrs. from home), and when the second went to college, we thought it was the worse thing that could happen! (she went 11.5 hrs. from home). We truly did not see them for many weeks. You might just as well have shot us! I'll be thinking about you - sending your baby away is tough. My DD, however, would KILL for a marimba, and she's almost 30!!! She was a percussionist in school and college, and marched a drum corps for two summers....So sorry! didn't mean to yak your ear off!!!

  5. Aww that image IS adorable.. You picked the perfect paper.

I know how much your heart hurts right now.. I am on number 3 in college and I still get all choked up thinking about it.. Daughter 3 lost her wallet this last weekend..Apt key, debit card, money and college id card..Some guy found it and gave it back to her. What a nice guy.

Hang in there. I made my girls stay for a month. Then all they did was come home to do laundry..Hope it gets better..

  8. Your card is adorable Amy! I love that mischievous little cupcake.

I can so relate to your son being homesick...it brings back memories of when I was in college. I went to college over 12 hours away and the first time I could come home was at Christmas. I had a terrible beginning... oh well. I am so sure he will get used to it and enjoy it after a while. Thinking of you my friend.
    hugs,
    Chris

  9. What a happy cupcake. I like your arrangement of the pearls.

Be grateful for these "homesick" times while you have them. In a few months he will have lots of friends and lots of activities he will be involved in and you'll be begging him to come see you.
