Grandma & Me: A Mother’s Day Tea

I'm so excited to share a special "Grandma & Me" post this month to celebrate Mother's Day!   My beautiful, pregnant daughter Ashley joined us for our special Mother's Day post.  We thought it would be so fun to have a tea party with Alethea and boy oh boy, did she enjoy playing with Grandma's vintage tea set!

But before the tea party began, first we had to get all dressed up.   Alethea wore the cutest white cotton dress with a little mouse and flower border on the bottom.  I wore a new chambray ruffle skirt, with a white top, white cardigan, and white heels.  Of course, we had to don our white tea party hats! Alethea was so excited to wear her hat!  She couldn't wait to get downstairs and show daddy her new hat!  It was so cute!

I love the big pink sash on the back of Alethea's dress!

Alethea's mom wore a blue dress with a white cardigan.  I decorated the table with blue and white linens and added a pot of faux flowers.  Alethea was so excited to play tea party she could hardly wait for her mom to finish dressing and come downstairs.

Of course, it was all pretend, but to Alethea, water never tasted so good!  I had to keep refilling the tea kettle because she wanted to taste more and more!

What a doll!  She's at the age where it's so fun to do activities such as this!

Of course her favorite pet rabbit had to join the tea party too!

Believe it or not I found this hat for Alethea at the dollar store.  It was so cute, I bought her another one in a natural color.

Here is a close up of the border print.  Aren't the little mice so adorable?

Alethea was so tickled pink so have a hat just like "Mamy's".  We would ask her "Do you like your hat?" and then she'd reach up and grab hold of it with her little hands, as if she were checking that it was still there.

I love the little eyelet ruffle on Alethea's dress sleeve and hemline too.

Alethea wore white shoes, just like her Mamy.  Of course, her shoes were much more comfortable than my heels. 🤣

I loved playing tea party with my little granddaughter.  Although next time, I hope we can have real tea in our tea cups and some pretty treats...like macaroons!  We didn't do that this year because Ashley was worried that Alethea would stain her dress as she is not even two yet.

But the simplest things make kids so happy!  Alethea just loved pretending there was real sugar in the sugar container, and drinking out of fancy cups was so special to her.

I can't wait to see this little pumpkin Mother's Day weekend!

Have A  Great Day!  Amy
