Stitch Fix 21: Black Floral Top

This week I'm continuing on with my review of my 21st box from Stitch Fix with this pretty black floral top.  I have already shown you two pieces from this Fix on Monday and Friday's fashion posts.

I must admit I really liked this top and I had a hard time deciding whether to keep it or send it back.  I loved the fit/cut and the print.  This top could be dressed up or down.  I could easily dress it up with a skirt or dress pants, but for this fashion post I decided to dress it down with light denim skinny jeans (old, Charlotte Russe) and a burgundy faux leather jacket (old, CJBanks similar HERE).

I decided to pull out the little bit of mustard yellow in the top by carrying a mustard yellow bag (old).  For shoes, I went with black booties (old, Liz Claiborne) to bring down the black color of the top to the rest of the outfit.

The top has tab sleeves and a split neckline.  I did wear a black tank top underneath the blouse for modesty reasons.

For jewelry, I went with a burnished gold bracelet and brown/gold earrings.

If your interested in requesting this top from your stylist, it is by Daniel Rainn and is called "Koda Split Neck Blouse".  I am wearing a size Medium.

The top has a nice length.  It is also longer in back than it is in front.

As much as I loved this top, I did send it back.  My husband thought it was just OK, and y'all know his opinion matters a lot when it comes to deciding what to keep and what to send back. 😊 But I also sent it back because I truly did not need it.  I already own three dark floral tops and I could not justify keeping another one.

So what do you think?  Did I make the right decision to send this top back?  I'd love to hear from you.

On Friday, I will finish my review of my 21st box from Stitch Fix with the last two pieces I received in this box.  I will also do a summary review of the entire box in that post.

  1. I really do like it especially the back but I think if you're not feeling the fix pieces 100%, then back it goes!!

  2. This is a really cute top Amy, the back looks gorgeous. But it's understandable why you sent it back, since you already have several floral tops.

  3. I think you made the decision that I would have made. When you already have something almost like it in your closet, than it's more fun to add something new!!
    But you're right...it's a great one, Amy!!

  4. Super cute top and outfit on you! I love the tab sleeves and back on it. Definitely a keeper, but understand why you returned it since you already have a few others that are similar to it.

  6. I know you said you have a few dark floral tops already...but I just love them! I don't think I can have enough! And when there is red in them I like to pair it with red lipstick :)

  10. I like the pieces you pulled to coordinate with your top. Stitch Fix must really be working for you if you've gotten that many shipments--good to hear! I like the spent cornfield in the background.

    1. Thanks Kim. Yes, Stitch Fix is a winner for me. I used to love shopping for clothes, but I end up not wearing/keeping a lot of things I buy for myself. Stitch Fix seems to know what looks better on me. ha ha!

  12. I hold my breath all the way through your Stitch Fix posts until I know whether you kept or returned a piece. I was betting that you kept this one. You are a tough customer! It looks fabulous on you and of course, you made it even better with the outfit you built around it.

    1. I know, it was so hard for me to send this top back. Everyone seemed to love it too. But I truly did not need it, I mean, how many black floral tops does one need? If money were no object, I would have kept it.
