What To Wear For Easter Other Than A Dress: Stitch Fix #14

Every year I drool over the gorgeous Easter dresses I see in the department stores, but in my climate, wearing a spring dress on Easter Sunday isn't always possible.  This year is especially difficult, because Easter is very early so the chance of it being warm enough to wear a light spring dress is slim.

I received this top in my last Stitch Fix box and at first, I was not going to keep it.  The low neckline and ruffles were not for me!  But then after I saw these pictures, I decided to keep the top.  It will be perfect to wear for Easter with my white skinny jeans.   I will have to add a camisole underneath because the low neckline is not church appropriate!

The top is a pretty lavender color;  perfect for Easter!  It wraps and ties in front and has a ruffle neckline. It is sheer, so I wore a tank top underneath.

I thought this nude bag was perfect (old).  It pulls out the color of the leaves in the top.

For the photo shoot, I chose these taupe wedges (old).  But if the weather warms up by Easter Sunday, I'll try a pair of cute heels or sandals.

I thought the top has so much going on already with all the ruffles and ties, that I would just keep my necklace simple.  I chose a simple pearl and gold necklace (old).  Very delicate and pretty.

This top was one of those items that I didn't like in the mirror (seriously, I didn't!)  but when I saw the pictures I thought the top was very flattering.  Funny how it works that way sometimes, isn't it?  And other times, it works the complete opposite!

My white high-rise skinny jeans are from Charlotte Russe.

Jackson decided to join us for the photo shoot!  I always love it when he does that!  It makes the pictures so much more fun and interesting!

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  3. It's really such a lovely blouse----perfect for Easter and beyond, Amy!!!
I always end up wearing a cami under these wrap types for coverage, but then again it's good because it keeps me warmer!!

  4. I totally agree with you. It might be too cold for a dress this weekend. Nice choice on this stylish top.

  5. Amy, I just love this new set (your updated bedroom) for your fashion haus pictures. Truly lovely. The lighting, the soft colors, the kitty. So pretty. And that rhymes.

And that blouse. I have been looking for a feminine, spring blouse and you are wearing just what I want. Does the blouse stay closed? I have more than my share in the chest department and would be worried the "girls" would pop out for air!

You look perfect for Easter or any other spring day!

    1. Thanks Leslie, it's a lot easier and more comfortable taking pictures indoors. As for the blouse, no, it doesn't stay closed...which is another reason I almost sent it back. I will definitely be wearing a cami underneath and probably pinning it shut.

  9. Great advice and Jackson is adorable! You asked what I thought about the Dunkin' Donuts after 11 years. I thought they tasted wonderful--just like I remembered them. I have to say I didn't get any cream filled ones (my favorite) but they were still awesome :)

    1. Thank you! Yes, it's so early this year! I'm sure there is a reason, but I wish Easter would just be the same day every year. It moves around too much!

    1. Thanks Nikki! At first I wasn't going to keep the top because I didn't think it would work with my large bust and tummy, but It ended up being very flattering, making me look smaller. Who knew? That's what great about Stitch Fix. It forces you to try on things you'd normally bypass in the store.

  18. For going to church I always wear a dress or skirt. But for Easter Dinner afterwards. This outfit is perfect and I would totally wear this.

    1. Thanks Candy, I grew up in a church where wearing a skirt or dress was mandatory if you were going to be on stage ( I sang in the choir). But now I go to very informal church, and most women do not wear dresses, especially in the winter.

  23. It has been dreary and rainy here and we rarely have nice weather on an early or late Easter it seems. This top is so pretty on you and I just love it paired with the white denim and that simple pearl necklace. I love the color of the top as well, so soft and muted. Perfect for Spring. Your kitty is so cute!
