A Cozy New Sweater

This past weekend my husband and I went to our community's Christmas Walk and this is what I wore.  Every year my small town has a Christmas Walk where they feature three homes from the community decorated for Christmas.  One year it was my privilege to have my home on this walk.  If you missed those posts, you can see them HERE and HERE.

It was actually a beautiful, warm, sixty+ degree day when I wore this outfit.  I probably didn't need the scarf, but it looked too cute with my outfit, so I wore it anyway.  I wore the scarf a little looser around my neck than as shown in the photo, so I wasn't overly warm at all.

My sweater is new this season and it already has become my absolute favorite sweater in my wardrobe.  I normally don't buy plain, neutral sweaters for I tend to be drawn towards color.  But I changed my mind when I had seen several fashion posts where women were wearing beige or camel sweaters and bringing in color with their accessories.  I absolutely loved that idea so I checked J.C. Penney the next time I was in town and found this beauty for $17.99 (plus a $10.00 off coupon).

The sweater is longer in the back than it is in the front, so it covers my butt!  Yeah, who doesn't want their butts covered so they can wear long, cozy sweaters with leggings?  I do!

Another aspect of this sweater I like is the weight of the knit.  It's a good, medium weight with an open weave pattern on the sides.  I don't care for chunky knits too much because they add a lot of unwanted pounds, and sometimes super thin knits aren't enough, or they can be too clingy.  The weight of this knit is just perfect.  I did wear a camisole underneath because you could see through the holes on the side just a tad.

It's hard to tell in my pictures, but if you click the link to the website listed at the end of the post, and you zoom in on the pictures, you can see the open-weave.

I chose brown/gold earrings to match all the browns in my outfit.

And I brought in more brown/gold along with other fall colors with this multi-strand beaded bracelet and my burgundy bag.

I wore a brown felt fedora (old, Forever 21) on my head and I added a gorgeous scarf I picked up in Florence, Italy years ago.  The scarf has so many pretty fall colors in it.

My pants are by also new this season.  They are from Macy's and I've shown them to you before HERE and HERE.  I can't believe how much wear I'm getting out of these pants.  I've been wearing them more than my blue jeans.  This color goes with everything!

I wore my new burgundy booties on my feet, bringing in more color to my outfit.  I forgot to take a close up, but you can see them on the website provided below if your interested.

  9. This outfit is so cute! I can relate to wearing clothes that it might be too warm to wear in the name of cuteness. Haha! I do that a lot!
