Fashion Over Fifty: A Fashionable Military Look

Hello!  For this week's Fashion Over Fifty post,  I decided to go with a fashionable military look since I was visiting the ruins of an old fort that day.  I will post more pictures and stories of Fort Pikens, Florida on a later travel post.

These pictures were taken on New Year's Eve day, when it was all of a balmy 45 degrees in Florida.  It was the coldest of the four days we were there, and we did not have our winter jackets with us, so we were freezing!  But we loved exploring this old fort and taking lots of fun pictures with these amazing brick and stone backdrops,  so we enjoyed ourselves anyway, despite the weather.

I wanted my outfit to compliment the colors of the fort, so I wore a olive green jacket from Dress Barn, and dark blue skinny jeans from Express.  I brought some color into my otherwise bland outfit by wearing a red blouse from Express (similar) underneath the coat.  A chunky sparkly tan scarf, leopard print flats, and a tan cross over body bag completed my outfit.  I wore gold bangles for jewelry.

Awhile back I did another post with this jacket that you can read HERE if you missed it.  I love this jacket, because it's my fifty- something- way of wearing the trendy camouflage/military look without looking ridiculous.

Have a great day!  Amy
