It's Hip to be Square!

Blogger was malfunctioning yesterday and wouldn't let me post any photographs, so now I have to post twice today: once to show you the cards I wanted to post yesterday, and secondly to announce my BlOGAVERSARY! But since this post is about my cards, lets begin with that. Both cards were made for Crafty Secrets Challenges. The first card was made for the challenge on Splitcoaststampers 'Its Hip to be Square!' I try to tell my 18 year old son that everyday, but he doesn't believe it. LOL! Anyhow, the challenge was to make a card that was square or had squares on it. Well I love square cards because you can do SO much more with them than with regular A2 size cards, but I don't like to pay the extra postage. LOL! My card is a 5 1/2 square, so its quite large. I used the Crafty Secrets set 'Feeling Yuchy'. The little girl image is colored with Prismacolored Pencils, cut out, and mounted up on dimensionals. The sentiment is also mounted up. The designer paper is Stampin Up! 'Tea Party' and card stock colors are white, Certainly Celery, and Almost Amethyst. The ribbon and bow were 'recycled' from a gift someone gave to me, I always save all my ribbon and re-use it. And I am proud to say that I made the bow myself WITHOUT the help of using a 'Bow-Easy' LOL! My second card was made for the Crafty Secrets Challenge on Paper Craft Planet where we were to make a Red, White, and Blue card. I used the Crafty Secrets set 'Sweet Kids' and colored the image with Prismacolored Pencils. The designer paper is 'Bashful Blue' by Stampin Up! Card stock colors are white, Bashful Blue, and Riding Hood Red . I threaded some Bashful Blue ribbon through the lace as an added touch.

Be sure to check out my next post for some chance to win BLOG CANDY! Have a great day! Amy
