Easter Treat Bag

I made this little Easter Treat Bag for the Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoaststampers yesterday. The directions were posted on the site, but they were so difficult to understand, I couldn't even figure them out, so I'm not posting them here. I was hoping 'Markie's Mom' would post some better directions (cause she usually does that) on her blog today, but she didn't. I don't think I even made my bag correctly. I just figured it out on my own by looking at the photograph. I think the front panel is suppose to fold down and open up, I just glued mine together. But it looks like the original photograph and it hold a small bag of candy, that's the important part, right?
Anyway, onto my bag. I made the Bag with Lovely Lilac Card stock. I then added a Barely Banana and Pretty in Pink panel to the front of the bag. I wrapped a wide white ribbon around the whole bag and glued it down. Then I added a purple flowered ribbon on top of the white ribbon. I cut some of the flowers off and used them as accents. My images are from the Stampin Up! 'A Good Egg' set. I just love this set, its so cute. I stamped the egg on Basic Grey designer paper and cut it out.I put some brads on the dots of the egg (and since taking this picture, I've added yellow glitter glue to the center lines in the egg and pink glitter glue to the remaining dots. It looks much better now). I then used dimensionals to mount it up on the bag. I stamped and cut the chick out and glued him to my bag. The handles were made using a Cropadile and eyelets.

I don't have little kids anymore, so I'll probably take this little bag over to my local consignment store to sell. I might have to make a few more before I do that though. I'm sure the store is beginning to wonder where all my Easter Stuff is. I'm busy today and I work Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night, so I guess I'll be spending all day Thursday and Saturday making Easter Goodies to sell. Hopefully I can get it all done in time.

Have a great day! Amy

  3. You did a wonderful job on the bag. Even if it is not what the directions were for exactly...you really made one cute bag. And it holds candy, what's not to like, LOL

  4. Well it looks good to me. I love the layers and details. Sometimes I have to just figure a pattern out the best that I can too. Very cute!

  5. This is soooo adorable. Considering you had to figure out how to do it yourself, I think it came out terrific.

I had to read the directions a few times myself. I do think there was missing info. In the end, even though it was a cute idea, I chose not to make one. I have no kids and no one I would give one to.
