Jordan's High School Scrap Book 'The Percussionist'

Here is another page that my daughter Ashley did for my son's High School Scrap Book. This page showcases his Senior Photos with his drum set. I dragged my son's drum set (not the whole thing, just the main part', down to the photography studio because I thought nothing sums up who Jordan is and his High School Experience more than his drum set. Here is a close up of one of the pictures. The instruments are all stickers and the paper is a combination of two different types of music designer paper.

The title and sub title of the page was done on the computer.

Thanks again for all your encouraging comments about my 'baby going off to college'. It really helps to hear from all your personal experiences. We'll be headed back to his campus this weekend to take him his Marimba. We'll see how he's doing then. I'll keep you all updated.
Have a great day! Amy

Cute Cupcake Card!

Hello! Today I have a simple card I created using this adorable FREE digi from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this just about the cutest cupcake image you have ever seen? I love the mischievous smile! To make my card I colored the image with Copic Markers and put Stickles on the sprinkles and Crystal Effects on the cherry. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye. I used Pink Organdy Ribbon so that you could still see all the sentiments on the designer paper. A button, floss, and adhesive pearls were added for embellishment. The inside of the card reads 'You deserve a day sprinkled with fun. Happy Birthday!'. Here is a close up so you can see this adorable image better:

Well my son emailed me already and asked if dad could bring his marimba and hang out a bit this weekend. He said a bunch of kids were going home for the holiday weekend. Really? Already? It hasn't even been a week yet and they are already homesick? Oh, I wish I could stop worrying, but I know homesickness is a part of life everyone goes through. Well, we are bound and determined not to let him come home for at least 6 weeks. All the studies we have read advised that is the amount of time teens need to separate from home before they should have their first visit back. So were sticking with that. Although, dad will probably take him his marimba. Keep him in your prayers! He still has a lot of issues to work out!
Have a great day! Amy

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Make a Gift Set'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is to make a gift set! Our sponsor this week is 'Fairy Knoll' and they gave me a really fun image image to play with.

I had this 'Drawer Box' tutorial from SCS sitting on my desk FOREVER, so I thought this challenge was the perfect time to try it out. It was a really easy tutorial to follow and so simple to make. In fact, I read on the tutorial that if you make the box out of chipboard and not card stock you can stack the boxes and put your Spellbinders Nestabilities inside. I think I'm going to try that sometime because right now I don't like how my Nesties are stored at all (in a CD case).

To make my box I used paper the image 'Annika' from Fairy Knoll. The box and card bases are made out of Old Olive Card Stock. The designer paper is from last year's DCWV Fall Stack 'Indian Summer' believe it or not. They don't look very fall like do they? I thought the colors and the design went perfectly with the image. The drawer box is perfect for fitting lots of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cards and envelopes inside.

Here is a close up of one of the cards. I cut the image out for one of the cards and the box top. The sentiments are from a 'Tinkerbell' EK Success Stamp Set.

Here is the second card. This image is not cut out so you can see the sweet butterflies Annika is looking at.

And here is a close up of the top of the box. I used a decorative trim bought at JoAnn's for both cards and the box. Dew drops were also added on each item.

And finally, a close up of this pretty fairy image 'Annika'.
