Styling Spots and Dots with Ageless Style

Ageless Style is a monthly style challenge and link up for women of all ages.   Each month we pick a different theme and style an outfit based on that theme.  This month's theme is "Spots and Dots" and was picked by Mireille.

Yes, Monday is the first day of spring, but we are still buried under snow here in Wisconsin.  The snow just won't stop falling!  I feel like I'm trapped inside a snow globe and can't get out!  When Mireille picked "Spots and Dots" for this month,  I looked in my closet and the only thing I had were some leopard print flats and a summer polka dot dress:  both completely inappropriate for this kind of weather.  So I decided to use a little creative license and show you this cute, cuddly "new to me" sweater that has something that looks more like "splats" than "spots" or "dots".

I bought the sweater last year at an end of winter sale, but I never showed it on my blog till today.   It's the perfect Wisconsin sweater:  long, thick, and super warm and cozy.

Because it's so long, I can wear it with leggings, and for footwear I chose ankle boots...perfect to wear on snow covered sidewalks.

There's a debate in my house over whether these are snowflakes or flowers.  I think they are flowers, or "splats".  ha ha!  Whatever you want to call them, I sure do love them!

I purchased my sweater at JCPenney.  I couldn't find this pattern anymore, but they have a very similar one HERE, and on clearance for only $8.99. You can't beat that price!.  It's the same exact sweater, just a different pattern.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my "splats" or "spots" or "dots", whatever you want to call them.

Now be sure to check out how the rest of the ladies in the group are styling their "Spots and Dots" and be sure to link up with us as well.

Have A Great Day!  Amy

    1. Your splats are wonderful and absolutely perfect for the weather. I do feel your pain with the weather. When does spring usually arrive?

    2. Thank you. I don't really know when spring usually arrives cause it can differ every year. And then we can have some nice warm temperatures, then it'll suddenly get cold again or even a blizzard. We had a blizzard on Easter Sunday three years ago! But usually after Mother's Day we can expect the temperatures to be more consistent.

  2. oh we are buried in snow here too in Ontario. Longing for spring, as you must be too! Your sweater looks very nice, and I think they are flowers too.

    1. Although I'm sorry you are also buried in snow, I'm happy to have an empathetic on-line friend who knows what I'm going through. It seems most of my on-line friends are experiencing spring already. Yes, I'm longing for spring. Our winters are so long, and the transitional seasons are always too short. Thank you.

  3. I love the sweater. I wish we had more of your kind of weather to enjoy thick sweaters like that. But our winters are fairly mild in the desert Southwest.

    1. Thank you. Well even in our winters, we tend not to wear these type of sweaters unless we plan to spend a lot of time outdoors or it's bitter cold, otherwise they're too warm indoors.

  4. So much snow!! It snowed twice here last week but luckily only a couple of inches each time and looks like it went up north.
Your sweater is beautiful and looks so cozy! The flower splats make it perfect for this time of the year too!

    1. Yep! But thankfully we had a couple of warm days in the 40s and a lot melted. However, now we're back in the 20s for a couple of days. It's probably a good thing, because if it melted too fast we would have flooding. Thanks so much!

  6. That is a super cute sweater!! All my spots and dots (the whole 3 tops I own with dots) are definitely more appropriate for summer too but I finally made something work. LOL.

  8. I love how you got creative with the theme Amy. I will agree when you see the pattern up close they look like flowers, but splats are more fun to say!!
