Bible Journaling, My April Pages: Galations through Colossians

Once a month I like to share my Bible Journaling Pages and what God has been teaching me.  In the month of April I journaled from the book of Galations through Colossians.   Sometimes I just color in the preprinted images of the "Inspire Bible" (available on Amazon) and I also create my own pages.

Unless otherwise stated, all the images are colored in with either gel pens or colored pencils.  I tend to color larger areas with pencils then get the more intricate spots with pens.  I high light my Bible with gel highlighters, and I usually use gelatos or  craft paint for my backgrounds.

April was a long month, and the Inspire Bible has a lot of pre-printed pages in the New Testament so I have a lot of pages to show you this month.  All my pages are pre-printed this month.  I don't have any original pages.  While we're on this topic, my one beef with the Inspire Bible is that they don't have enough pre-printed images in the Old Testament and they have too many in the New Testament. I would have liked to create my own pages on some of these great verses, but there wasn't even the space for me to that.

Because I have so many pages this month, I'm gonna keep my thoughts on the verses short and let the scripture speak for itself.

Galations is most famous for its "Fruit of the Spirit" verse which makes it the perfect verse for the Inspire Bible to choose for its title page.

Christianity is all about dying to oneself.  Dying to our sin, and not living according to our desires, wants,  needs and sinful nature, but trusting in Christ and living for Him.

There is no discrimination in Christianity.  We are all one, we all belong to Jesus, we are all His children.

In the early days of the church, some converted Jewish Christians wanted to still follow the law, and Paul said:  'No, Christ set us free on the cross'.

It's hard to keep doing good when the world seems to be falling apart around us, isn't it?   But Paul said, "Don't give Up!"

Just like the book of Galations is known for its "Fruit of the Spirit" verse, the book of Ephesians is known for its "Armor of God" verse.  I'm sure anyone who ever attending Sunday school remembers making the Armor of God out of construction paper and putting it on.

The hostility between Jews and Gentiles was put to death by Jesus on the cross.  H created one new people from two groups and brought peace.

As we grown in our faith, we will develop a stronger faith.

Churches need to make every effort to be unified for we are one Body and one Spirit.

This is the verse that precedes the Armor of God verse.  In order to be strong, we must put on the Armor of God.

The title page of the book of Philippians is one of my personal favorite Bible verses.  It was one of the first verses I committed to memory as a young adult and it helped me get through some scary times.

There's a quote on social media that has been very popular for a while now:  "Be patient with me, God isn't finished with me yet".  That is true, based on this verse.  Christianity is a process.  Yes, we get saved when accept what Christ did for us on the cross, but then we begin a lifelong journey of learning from Jesus.

Ah, humility.  Why is that so hard for people?  Why do we always try to impress other people? The Bible says to do the opposite:  "...don't try to impress others.  Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves".

"Always be full of joy"?  That's a hard one!  When life is hard, it's hard to be joyful.  But here's the difference, we're not supposed to just be joyful, we're suppose to be full of joy IN THE LORD.  No matter what happens in life,  I am always to be joyful in God.  I love how Paul adds at the end of this paragraph:  "Remember, the Lord is coming soon!"  Looking forward to the return of Christ will always give us hope and joy even in the darkest of times.

I love this verse, easier said than done of course.  But it's good advice.  When we catch ourselves starting to worry, we need to stop and pray instead.

This verse is very similar to Ephesians 3:17.  The Christian life doesn't begin and end at accepting Jesus as Lord.  We must continue to follow Him and "let our lives be built on Him".

As believers,  we can be confident of eternity with Jesus because He lives inside of us now.

As a fashion lover,  I love how the Inspire Bible illustrated this verse.  These actions don't always come naturally to us, that's why we need to take action and "clothe" or "put on" these attributes ourselves.

This verse is great advice for anyone who has a job they don't like.  I've reminded myself many a time of this verse when I had a very difficult job and boss.

Well,  I hope you gleaned something from this month's Bible Journaling pages.

Have a Great Day!  Amy

  7. I love Ephesians 3:17! I'm going to have to check this Bible out - it seems like something I would enjoy. I've always wanted a journaling Bible, but I'm not a great artist. These preprinted pages would be a great way to get started (and get inspiration!) Beautiful.

    1. Thanks! Yes Bible Journaling is more time consuming than just reading the Bible, but I get a lot more out of it that way.
