What I Wore To St. Charles

Last week I spent seven wonderful days with my children who live in Illinois.  The weather was unseasonably warm so I was able to get by most days without a coat.  On the day I wore this outfit, we went to the doctor's office to find out the sex of my daughter's baby.  And for those who may want to know....it's a GIRL!  I am so excited to spoil her rotten with the prettiest clothes and I can't wait to share the spotlight with her on my blog.  Expect lots of "Grandma and Me" fashion posts!  There are so many "Mommy and Me" fashion posts, but I've never seen any for grandma's and their grandchildren...have you?

After the doctor visit we went out to lunch and then to another cute Illinois town:  St. Charles.  They are located on the same Fox River as the town of Geneva which I did a Travel Post on last Wednesday.  Like Geneva, St. Charles has a pretty bridge and scenic views of the river so of course it was the perfect spot for some fashion photography.

It was a very casual day so I wore comfy distressed boyfriend jeans, brown combat boots, a classic white button down shirt, tan cardigan, tan tank, a pink and green striped infinity scarf and a tan cross body bag.

My cardigan is new and it's from T.J. Maxx.  I absolutely love it because it is a thin knit (my favorite), and long enough in back to cover my butt.  It also has a pattern in the knit in the back which it doesn't have in the front.

Everything but the cardigan is old, but would you believe they still sell this same exact shirt at C.J. Banks?  I was walking past a window display at the mall and saw my shirt on the mannequin.  I couldn't believe it!  I bought this shirt years ago.  It must be a classic staple of that store if they still carry it.

 Have a Great Day!  Amy

    1. Thank you! Thanks for saying that about my hair too. I had to use my daughter's blow dryer which doesn't have a low air setting so my hair was a bit more 'wild' than usual.

  2. Great outfit, love the cardigan! We too enjoyed the warm weather last month, kind of wish it came a week later and just stayed warm. Now we're back to freezing!! This is the town where my cousin stays at every year she visits. I have never been there as she usually visits us here in Western IL for a week during her Chicago visits. It looks like a really pretty area.
Grandma and me photos sound so cute!

    1. Thank you. It's cold again here too, but I think the warm weather returns again next week. How neat that this is the town your cousin stays in. Does she stay in the historic hotel on main street? It's gorgeous. I will do a post on that soon!

  5. The photos from your Illinois trip do look like you are somewhere in Europe. Surprising to see you are able to wear just a light weight sweater in late February in Illinois.
