Early and Mid October Bible Journaling Pages

For months now I have been showing you large groups of Bible Journaling pages trying to play "Catch Up"  to where I actually am in the Bible.  I am happy to say I am all caught up and maybe now after this weeks post, I can go a little deeper into what I've been learning spiritually as I Bible Journal instead of just talking about how I made my pages.

I am finally in the book of 1 Kings!  This is how I colored the pre-printed chapter page.  I really wanted to emphasize the sun's rays in the image so I colored the whole page with water colors.  I'm not usually a water color fan, but I think they are the perfect medium to use when you want to color an entire page because you can still see the words.  I know a lot of you are going to ask how I got the colors so vibrant.  I used the water color in the tubes and I added very little water.  

After the page was dry, I colored in the image with a mix of pencils and glitter gel pens.

This is another pre-printed image I colored in with pencils then I went around the edges of the words with glitter gel pens.

I found this old page in my pictures that I did back in August but I never shared with you.   I created this page myself.  I created this page as a reminder to myself that when I am betrayed or hurt that I can just forgive and not seek revenge.  God is my advocate.  Romans 12 :19 says "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. " 

I created this page by coloring the background with gelatos and stamping in "He is my advocate" with alphabet stamps.  Then I stamped an arrow pointing to that verse and hand wrote my notes in.  The bird and flowers are stickers and the circles are die cuts.

Here is a two page spread that I did.  The left side is a pre-printed image and the right page I created myself.  I colored both sides with water colors.

For the pre-printed side after the water colors dried, and I went back and colored in the words with colored pencils using an ombre effect.  I added a little glitter to the lamp flame.

This page I created because after I read the verse "He Makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights" I was reminded of when my husband and I were in Zion National Park and we saw mountain goats standing on the a very steep, slippery cliff.  We marveled at how they managed to walk on those steep cliffs so easily without slipping.  It's such an amazing imagery for David the shepherd to use of God enabling us.

After I water colored the page and dried it with a heat gun,  I painted the mountain with craft paint.  I had a little deer die cut in my stash and just placed it on top of the mountain (a fellow crafter sent me this die cut).  Then I used a variety of stamps and different colored inks for the Bible verse.

How To Style A Floral Top For Fall

Think you can only wear floral prints in Spring?  Think again.  Floral prints work great all year long,  especially if you save the pretty pastels and brights for the warmer seasons and wear darker florals in the colder months.

I was pretty excited to receive this green floral top in my October box from Stitch Fix.  I have a lot of winter florals in my closet but they all have black backgrounds.  It was refreshing to see the pretty green background, and I thought the shades would work well with fall colors.

I styled my new floral top with all old items from my closet.  But don't worry, I'll have similar item links at the end of this post.

I wore the top with my burgundy faux leather jacket from CJBanks.  The rest of my outfit I kept pretty neutral with my new bag (also from my October Stitch Fix box), light denim, and brown suede booties.

The top is by Papermoon and is called "Larie Crew Neck Blouse".  It has a satiny feel to it and the sleeves have a slight bell shape.

I really liked the little rust colored flowers on this top.

For jewelry, I chose this gold bracelet and I wore a pair of earrings that also came in this Fix (more on those in a later post).

My jeans were purchased from Charlotte Russe before they went out of business.  They have a high waist with three buttons on the top.  I love them so much.  I'm still so bummed they went out of business.

The top is longer in back than it is in the front.

Styling a floral top for fall is so simple if you choose a floral with a dark background or the print has fall colors in it like the cute little rust flowers in mine.  Layer your fall top with other fall items in neutral or fall colors.  For those outfit, I chose a fall burgundy jacket, brown suede shoes and tied it all together with denim and a neutral bag.

How To Style A Sweater Dress

If you live in a frigid winter climate like I do,  it is difficult to wear dresses in winter.  But I get tired of wearing pants all winter long and I long to wear dresses.  Tights and tall boots (especially the over-the-knee ones) are key to keeping warm in dresses in winter.  Choosing long sleeve, longer dress lengths, and knit dresses also help to keep warm in a dress in winter.

When I received my October box from Stitch Fix, I was estactic to see a sweater dress in my Fix.  I  really need winter dresses, especially sweater dresses. This dress is by Fortune and Ivy and is called "Elisha Cowl Neck Hacci Knit Dress". 

I styled my dress with black tights and black booties.

As an outer layer, I chose this green/black cardigan from CJBanks (old).

The length of the cardigan is almost as long as the dress.  I love the edgy grommet detail on the sides.

My booties are a black suede with a kitten heel (old).

In honor of fall, I chose to wear this pretty leaf necklace from an old Stitch Fix box.

I also received this handbag from Urban Expressions in my October box.  It can be used as a handbag or a cross body bag.  In this post, I'm featuring it as a handbag.

The name of the bag is "Maison Whipstitch Crossbody Bag".    I just love the whipstitch trim.

A black sweater dress has endless styling opportunities.  Any color of cardigan would work with it, along with blazers and jackets.
