A Bear Card

I needed another card for the guys, so I pulled out the retired Stampin' Up! set "Wildlife Reserve" and used the bear image.  The sketch is from MFT (MFTWSC236).  The paper is from DCWV "The Natural".

I colored the bear with pencils, cut him out, and popped him up on dimensionals.

The circular panel and the banner are up on dimensionals too.  I used MFT and Spellbinder's Nestabilities to create all the shapes.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! "Happiest Birthday Wishes".

Fashion Over Fifty: Black Leather and Studs

I went shopping last weekend and I bought four items:  all black.  I have no idea how I did that.  I usually mourn the loss of color the fall and winter season brings.  I will admit, I was looking for a pair of black jeans and black shorts so that was two of the items.  But I also found this cute top and a black vest that I just couldn't resist.  However,  I couldn't help but think that the cashier thought I was into Goth or something when I was at the check-out.

I really didn't need another black top, but I found it very interesting for two reasons:  the studs on the shoulders and the elastic waist.  I'm always looking for items with interesting detail, and these studded shoulders are certainly interesting.  As for the elastic waist?  Well, that's always a plus to me for it hides my expanding waistline!

Since this was such an edgy outfit for me, I wore my edgy, pointy necklace from Express.

Don't you just love these studded shoulders?

I wore a silver bracelet on my wrist that's also sorta edgy.  I picked it up on my vacation to Colorado last spring.

It was cool in the morning when I wore this outfit, so I started the day with my vegan leather Moto Jacket over my top (old, Forever 21).

Both the top and pants are from J.C. Penney.  The pants I bought on clearance and showed you before in THIS POST.

And as always, I'm carrying my go-to bucket bag from Express (old).  What can I say, I have a ton of handbags in my closet bag, but this one is just one of my favs.  It holds everything!

I wore snakeskin pointy toe flats from Express for footwear (old).

I think I may have watched too many episodes of Sons of Anarchy on Netflix when I put this outfit together.  But hey, it's fun to change things up a bit once in awhile.

Seashell Card

Today's card was so simple to make because I used stickers and designer papers do all the work for me.

I started out with beautiful, sparkly, dimensional seashell stickers from K&Co.  All I did was adhere them to a piece of designer paper, also from K&Co.  Then I stamped a sentiment right onto the designer paper (retired SU!).  I then just matted away using different shades of brown paper.

The textured paper looks and feels like cheese cloth and it is from DCWV.  I added adhesive rhinestones around the main image.

Other than all the cutting, matting, and gluing, it was a really simple card that looks like a million bucks!
