Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is 'Summer Lovin!' Simply make a card or project that has something to do with Summertime and be sure to include at least one digital element. I think it's perfect timing to make a summer lovin card here in Northern Wisconsin since we got our first blizzard of the season and had a foot of snow dumped on us last night. I work about an hour away from where I live, and only by the GRACE OF GOD did I make it home alive. The roads were treacherous if not impassible because the plows really weren't out much...they appeared to be waiting for the storm to end before plowing. I saw cars in ditches everywhere, and numerous police and emergency vehicles assisting stranded and injured motorists. I myself got stuck in my store's parking lot. The snow was so deep I couldn't exit the lot to get the road. I tried with little success and flooring the gas pedal, 'rockin' between reverse and forward...nothing was working. I finally got out of car and grabbed the store's shovel (which I thankfully had the foresight to set outside the store before I set the alarm and locked the store) and shoveled about 10 feet behind and in front of my car, then I got back in the vehicle and floored it in reverse then quickly put it in drive keeping the gas pedal down and I was able to get enough speed going to plow through the snow the rest of the way. I think I almost broke down and cried at one point, I just didn't know what to do. I wish I could say my ordeal ended there, but I still had several other near misses with other vehicles on the way home....but, an hour and forty five minutes later, I safely made it home. So, to those of you who LOVE SNOW.....BAH HUMBUG!!!!!! I HATE IT! It might be pretty to look at through a large picture window, but that's the only good thing I can say about it.
Anyway, back to the main reason for this post. Our Sponsor this week is MyGrafico, and they are giving away one digital stamp set and a 20% off an order in the store. For my card, I used a boat image from the set 'Sail Away with Us', designed by Revidei and sold at MyGravico. My sketch is by Verve and my paper is DCWV 'Nana's Nursery, Baby Boy'. The sentiment is computer generated.
Have a great day! Amy

Wow! Glad you made it home safely!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!!
oh Amy, I'm glad you made it home safely. Sounds like an awful time. When I worked away from home, I remember quite a few times like that. We live wayyyy out in the country and there is one really steep hill into the valley. Drivers actually line up at the top of the hill and take turns going down & out before the next driver goes down the hill. That was quite new to me coming from the plowed suburbs. lol
ReplyDeleteyour card is adorable, love how you used the little boat!
Christmas Blessings!
I feel your pain and totally agree with you 'BAH Humbug' indeed. I have driven in snow for most of my adult life and the older I get the more I hate it. It can a times be a night mare and I have grown to dislike the shovelling of driveways and walks too. It is beautiful to look at but that is all...

Oh Amy, just now reading this, I am so glad you got home safely in that condition. While I can't say I hate snow, I do absolutely hate driving in it and I am so thankful that I only live minutes from my work.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, I love the papers and the sketch is fabulous.
