Ageless Style is a monthly style challenge and link up for women of all ages. Each month we pick a different theme and style an outfit based on that theme. This month's theme is "Vests" and was picked by Jodie
If there is one clothing item that is really trending this season it is vests, no wonder Jodie picked this month's theme. Vests are everywhere; you can't step more than a few feet in any store without spotting a vest. The funny thing is, I never really liked vests. As someone who has always carried more weight on her top than on her bottom the last thing I need is another layer to add more bulk. I use to have a lot of vests; mostly winter vests. And those are great for running around in the winter when you don't want the bulk of a full winter jacket. But I have really scaled down on the vests in my closet limiting them to just four...and then I went shopping. 😁
I went shopping with a friend in her hometown and she took me to a new boutique in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin called "The Iris Boutique". Oh my goodness! Did I love this boutique! They had the cutest, most unique pieces and at very reasonable prices for a boutique. I am wearing two pieces in this post that I bought from the boutique: the vest and the jeans.
So what about you? Do you like vests? Have you purchased a new vest this season? I'd love to hear from you.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the ladies in our group are wearing and link up with us as well!

What a great outfit for a little hike! I love it layered with that cable knit sweater, it's the classic fall sweater weather vibe and the addition of the hat is just the cherry on top. Glad you were able to buy a few pieces that make you feel so good, I love that for you.

Thank you, you're so sweet.
DeleteRisen jeans are my favorite! They're so comfortable! Your vest is adorable! Love the contrasting collar!

I think they are my new favorite too. Thanks so much.
DeleteI love that you found a vest that works so well for you. It's one of my mantras in that not all clothing.Items are created equal.
ReplyDeleteAnd this one is so fabulous, especially with the whole outfit!!!
Xoxo
Jodie
Thanks Jodie!
DeleteThis was a great find: I love this vest, the neutral color and that collar. I have one pair of Risen jeans that I have enjoyed wearing the past few years. This is a wonderful fall outfit!

Thank you. I can't believe you've been wearing Risen jeans for years and I just discovered them.
DeleteDear Amy, I didn't know vests were back in style—I'll have to check if I still have any that fit. Your brand-new vest looks wonderful on you, and I love the natural colors of your outfit!
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Traude

Me neither, till I started this challenge. I did have some vests already in my closet too.
DeleteThat is a fabulous vest and I love those jeans. I can see why you get so many compliments with them. I don't think I have heard of that brand though.
ReplyDeleteThank you...and I'm glad someone else never heard of Risen before too. :)
DeleteThose are really cute jeans, and the brown collar on the vest really does make it unique!

Thanks!
DeleteIt looks very nice! I like that a vest can add a warm layer!
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes, definitely.
DeleteOh I do love a good vest, Amy, and often have found myself grabbing my husband's instead of my own. Looks like he may have to get another to wear for himself!
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving blessings to you and yours.
Ha ha. That is so funny. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
DeleteVery nice look Amy!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI haven't worn vests in a long time, but I used to have a few that I really loved.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice combo and I like the fedora goes well with it too beside being protection, but of course I never cared about what's in or out.
Thank you. Wearing what you love and not caring about trends is a good way to live.
DeleteI can see why you get so many compliments when wearing these jeans, they look so good on you and not as wide as some of the wide jeans around. I also love how this vest looks on you. Everything looks so balanced, absolutely perfect! And good for you for not listening to what the "trends" say when wearing your hat. Some pieces just make sense to wear whether they are trending or not. And by following some fashion blogs I've noticed what's trending one week could very well be not trending next and then just to hear them say a week later it's trending again (or so it seems!!) Who has time for that LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That is so true about trends. And they seem to come back in style faster these days so it makes me not want to be so quick to throw things away.
DeleteForgot to say, I have never heard of Risen jeans but might be looking for them now (not that I need another pair of jeans!!) And I do have a 3 winter vests in my closet. These days my daughter has been reaching for them a few times but I haven't worn one yet this year.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of them before either, but I will be keeping an eye out for them now.
DeleteI remember when long vests were really popular - maybe it was the 90's or early 2000's - and I loved wearing them with my leggings. I think I only have one in my closet right now... Your's looks so cute and I love the collar and the way it matches your hat! It's the perfect fall look! I'll have to tell my sister-in-law about the boutique you visited. She lives in Menomonie and I'm guessing she'd love it!
ReplyDeleteI remember those long vests too! I think I had two in my closet but I got rid of them because I didn't think they were practical for my northern climate. How cool that your sister-in-law lives in Menomonie.
DeleteLooks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteReally a nice look and it looks good on you. I like the setting you chose for the photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteI didn't know that vests were trending. Sometimes the weather just calls for a vest and like you said works better than a bulky jacket at times. The whole outfit you put together looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteThey sure are! Thanks so much!
DeleteI've always loved vests, so important for layering and keeping warm up here in the north! I have a stylish collection and am planning to do a post about the various vests I have worn on my blog. Yours looks sporty and perfect for a hike!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to you! You've got holiday style. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
DeleteVery stylish! Pop back tomorrow to see a something nice for you on Is This Mutton.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I will!
DeleteYou know, I haven't worn a vest in forever. Your outfit came together so beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at the Will Blog for Comments #73 linkup! We hope to see more posts, old or new, next week at #74.
ReplyDeleteI haven't either, other than my winter parka vest. They are not that practical for my climate as they don't fit under a winter coat that well.
