Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Were about to set out to meet some friends for an early dinner in a little bit, but I wanted to pop in and say a quick 'Hi!' first.  So far my Valentine's Day has been wonderful.  I woke up to a beautiful bouquet of red roses on my dining room table.

I made my husband some peanut butter cookies with Dove dark chocolate hearts inside.  Mmmm, they are delicious! Well,  maybe I made them a little bit for me too.  I think I ate about five of them between yesterday and today.  Oh well, it's a holiday.  Back on the diet on Sunday.  LOL!
This was the romantic card my husband gave me.  I told him, 'It looks handmade!'.  It's so funny how the trend in store bought cards right now is to make them look handmade.
And this is the card I made for him.  It says 'Happy Valentines Day.  I Love You' inside.  The image is from Penny Black and the sketch is from Splitcoaststampers (SC483 flipped sideways).  I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to make the XOXO on the white panel.  The designer paper is from Bo Bunny 'Crush Collection', and I put red Stickles on the little heart for extra sparkle.
My view when I woke up this morning:
I really struggled with what to wear today because it is bitter, bitter cold here in Wisconsin.  You know when there is frost on the windows, that it's bad outside.  If I wouldn't have made previous arrangements with friends, I think we might have just stayed home today and had a prime rib dinner.  But I didn't want to break my plans, because I haven't seen my old friends in over a year and I'm really looking forward to it.  I just don't want to go outside in this cold!
So what I was planning on wearing, was quite the challenge due to the weather.  I really, really, really wanted to wear my new top with the hearts on it that I showed in my previous post, but it is very thin and has short sleeves.  I think I tried every sweater, jacket, and pair of jeans in my closet before I found something that would keep me warm, and still allow me to wear my new top.
I settled on wearing a tank top under the heart top with a blush jacket and scarf on top.  There!  I'll be warm and I can still wear my top!  LOL!
I tried the top with dark denim, light denim, striped blue and white denim, and I finally settled on the grey pants to bring a different color other than blue into my outfit.  And the grey pants match the scarf and jacket perfectly too!

I would have preferred wearing some cute flats or heels with this outfit, but with this cold, it had to be boots.  Ugh!  Being fashionable is so difficult when you live in such a cold climate.

And I'm bound and determined to remember to take pictures of my backside from now on.  So happy I didn't forget again.  I wanted you see how much longer the top is than the jacket and how the jacket is quilted.  I really love how nice and long this top is.  I can't wait to wear it the spring and summer when I don't have to cover it up.
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
