Wishing You Hope

I feel as if I have made more sympathy cards than I have birthday cards lately.  Unfortunately, there has been a lot of heartache this holiday season for a lot of families.  Once again, I had to make a card for another grieving family.

This card was made for a friend of mine that lost her mother.  To make my card, I started with a beautiful sheet of copper foil designer paper from DCWV called  "The Natural".  The copper foil flowers were already on the paper, so all I had to do was stamp a sentiment.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark, then heat embossed with copper embossing powder to match the copper flowers.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

I used an organza off-white ribbon so that the flowers could still be seen through the ribbon.  Because the family are Christians, I added a cross charm that I picked up at a fabric and craft store.

A very simple, easy to make card, which is how I usually make my sympathy cards.  I never have sympathy cards in my stash, and I always have to make them on the spur of the moment, so they need to be simple, yet meaningful.

Have a great day!  Amy

  1. Beautiful card Amy - such a great idea to use the Designer Paper in this way as the copper flowers look really lovely. I am sure your friend will really appreciate your card at such a difficult time.
