I know when I go without make up for days, I need to put some on just to feel "pretty" again. I think my at-home lifestyle is a lot messier than the average homemaker. In the winter I have to keep two wood stoves going...and heating with wood is messy. I do feel like Cinderella sometimes covered in ashes! :) In the summer, I have a huge garden and I'm out there 4 to 6 hours a day covered in dirt. So that is why regular or "nice" clothes usually don't work for me.Amy Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11878073765579182362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365694657538005233.post-40813924211145727342018-04-21T18:38:49.040-05:002018-04-21T18:38:49.040-05:00Yes Carrie, that's just what I thought. I am a SAHM and I get dressed and put makeup on everyday. No matter what we do. When I had my first daughter I didn't and I got very depressed and once I got out of that time period I decided to take a shower, do my hair and makeup and even if it's comfy clothes I change out of my leggings and put something normal on. For me it's more than just wearing nice clothes around the house.

http://www.mylittlenest.orgRuthyAnniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17916853317757508502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365694657538005233.post-48741784334808120692018-04-20T15:31:15.481-05:002018-04-20T15:31:15.481-05:00I agree with you on this top, it is a bit pricey a...I agree with you on this top, it is a bit pricey and nothing really stands out on it that makes me think it's a special piece to keep. I usually like to keep pieces from Stitch Fix that are a little different than what I'd normally wear, looks great on and is something I wouldn't normally pick out for myself at a store. I think this looks like a nice lounge or workout top, but it wouldn't be my first pick! It still looks lovely on you and I love that jacket you styled with it. But, I am sure there were some other nicer pieces in your box! I was a little unhappy with my last Fix, so of course I ordered another one for next month. LOL! I stay at home, but I have to run out everyday for kids activities and such... so I usually do try to look a little put together. But, if I didn't have to leave the house... I would probably stay in my PJ's several times a week!! :) I like to do a lot of crafts, gardening, cooking, etc., too so I totally get what you mean. Why would you dress up for that?! And, why not just be comfortable?

Carrie
curlycraftymom.comCarriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07646332034591536363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365694657538005233.post-79328331558023918432018-04-20T12:36:47.123-05:002018-04-20T12:36:47.123-05:00I usually shy away from boxy too though I do buy m...I usually shy away from boxy too though I do buy more casual, loose pieces than I used to because it's much easier and practical to wear when I am with my daughter. Tighter, more fitted things are very heard to wear when chasing her in public (they rise up and show things I don't want to show). I tend to wear non-nice things at home too.

Amy Ann
Straight A StyleStraight A Stylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07379025619218337214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365694657538005233.post-66006031288385292472018-04-20T11:03:51.817-05:002018-04-20T11:03:51.817-05:00It looks like a cute outfit and I like the color. ...It looks like a cute outfit and I like the color. I also like the lengths of the sleeves but not so much the drop sleeves and for the price I would have sent it back too. In the photos it looks more like a dressier shirt than athleisure wear.

I'm one of the people that have to dress in my regular street clothes when I get up, and only change when I go to yoga or when it's time for bed. But regular clothes for me are jeans and a pretty shirts, I don't usually wear blouses or dresses (and my shirts are not super expensive either), so I don't feel like I am overdressed for regular house work. I've occasionally had a shirt ruined from cooking grease, now when I cook something messy, I just through an old zippered sweatshirt over my tshirt while cooking. (I should invest in an apron LOL.) That's why I struggle with wearing active wear or performance wear outside the home. Yes, I was watching Oprah years ago and she did a show where she showed nice outfits women could wear at home instead of sweats so they wouldn't feel like "frumpy housewives". It was mostly just nice jogging suits (or what they called them back then. Now they would be yoga wear probably), but still, I know I'd get a bleach or oil stain on it immediately. haha! But, I have seen other similar topic posts too. A lot of them have to do with weight management: we need to wear jeans at home instead of sweats or leggings because it's too easy to put on weight if you're not zipping into skinny jeans everyday. "boxy&quo...I agree with everything you said... "boxy" just doesn't look good on anyone. You are the first person I've heard address this "women should dress nice at home" thing. I understand the reasoning and I know that when I've been home too many days in a row without make up or "real" clothes on, I am antsy to dress up even if it is just jeans and a nice top. But I just can't see wearing anything nice that I'll wind up spilling on or getting dirty when I'm doing my daily work around the house! I liked the lavender top but, I agree, I wouldn't spend $58!
